Most of us do not want to think about dying and the next life; however, we are all appointed a day in which we must die and move on to eternal life in another realm. The big question is whether or not we are prepared for such a transition? As we finish our study of the life of Moses this Sunday, we will answer some of those perplexing questions about death and why the true believer does not have to fear the next life. It all starts with a solid personal faith in Jesus Christ. We must ask Him for forgiveness of sins and invite Him to be our Savior in order to be assured of our eternal home.

After our faith has been securely attached to Jesus Christ, we then move on to be a faithful follower. He will lead and guide us to the finish line. At that point Jesus will welcome us to heaven and eternal life with Him. This existence will be distinctly different than those who die and are allocated hell in which nothing but sorrow, pain, and suffering will be there reality. I beg of you today to seriously contemplate your future and finish your life well.

Have you ever asked yourself the question, “I wonder what will be my most memorial and affective moment of my life?” I would guess that most of us would choose the wrong moment for any number of reasons. But in Exodus 32 Moses displayed his “finest hour” by showing where he was going. In addition he had the ability to encourage others to come along. This gave him the legacy of being one of the most important men in human history. In other words because Moses knew where he was going and why, he took along with him his own generation in addition to the generations that would follow him. This makes him shine as one of the most affective men in history.

Most of us will not be another Moses nor should be; however, we should all aspire toward greatness in the sense that we know what our direction in life is. In addition we should choose to influence as many people as possible to join us in this journey. The reason this is so important is because mankind is fickle. There is no other explanation for our selfish behavior. If we can alter the direction of some people from being fickle to men and women of purpose, we have succeeded.

Speaking of influence, may I ask you if you know if your direction in life is right or wrong? God has a plan for you and me. It is not hard to find but once you discover it, you will never be the same.

Until next time,

We are studying the life of Moses on Sunday mornings and together we are finding that life has not changed any since he walked on earth. Even though Moses was fulfilling his calling to the best of his ability, he, never the less, encountered some difficult opposition. This opposition criticized him for how he did what God had asked him to do. It hurt most when Moses’ family joined the ranks of those who criticized him. Criticism always hurts but it hurts most when it comes from family or close friends because they shoot from close range.

Remember, that criticism will come our way no matter what we do. So it is best we learn how to navigate our way through the maze of negative reaction. In Moses’ case, he did not defend himself. While it is not wrong to defend ourselves, it is best to let truth win out. Truth will always win the battle even though it may take a very long period of time for that to occur. What is probably the most helpful in this lesson is Moses’ attitude toward those who hurt him the most. He, being humble, does not compare his rank with either Aaron or Miriam. He lets God take care of the details of their grievance. Always bear in mind that when God comes to address an issue within our lives, it is serious and for keeps. We may not end up with leprosy like Miriam but we can encounter something as painful. God views criticism against one of his leaders seriously and if you have a disagreement against one of His servants make sure you have biblical grounds in which to approach him.

It is always best to pray for those who serve over you. Then, God can take care of the rest.

Until next time,

Depression is not a recent development it has been around since the beginning of time. Great leaders in the past have often struggled with this condition as they tried to complete God’s calling in their lives. Moses was struck with depression as he attempted to lead the generation of Israelites out of Egypt. It is not easy to deal with the pressures of this life for either you or me. However, as we attempt to deal with this condition, it is helpful to take note of some of the things that may have gone wrong. In Moses’ case he lost sight of God’s promises; God’s power; and God’s overall plan. While it is too simplistic to conclude that these three things are responsible for all depression, it is helpful to the Christian to get back to the basics to begin the slow trek out of depression.

Hope you have a depression free day.
